Automotive Insight Events

Automotive Insight hosts events such as our Innovation Roundtable, which showcases new technology developments in the automotive industry. The theme for the most recent Roundtable was Wireless Vehicle Communication and Advanced Powertrain Technology. Participants covered the entire technology and development process, from academia to innovation, consumer research, testing, and preservation of Intellectual Property. There were also several vehicle displays showcasing Ford's SYNC technology, the Cadillac CTS with OnStar, and the Hybrid-Electric powertrain in the Ford Escape Hybrid.

Presenters at the last Innovation Roundtable are listed below, and their presentations (where available) are provided. We encourage you to review these, and to also visit the websites for each of the participating companies or organizations using the links at the bottom.

Automotive Insight kicked off the event with the following presentation by Mike Thomas and Tom Smart: Automotive Insight Innovation Presentation

Students from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, led by Zac Chambers and Marc Herniter, provided an in-depth review of the design and development of their Hybrid-Electric Chevrolet Equinox for the Challenge X competition. Challenge X provides a great learning opportunity for student teams to design and develop a hybrid powertrain vehicle in competition with other schools while meeting timing deadlines.

Ricardo provided a presentation entitled "Improving Fuel Economy and Safety Through Telematics and Advanced Powertrain Technologies", given by Deepa Ramaswamy, Brian Dillard, and John Jahshan. Ricardo also displayed the Ford Escape Hybrid, and discussed their development work on the Atkinson Cycle engine in this vehicle.
